OLIVE POLLINATION
Pollination requirements vary between the different olive varieties. While several of these varieties can be classified as self-fertile, the majority of olive trees greatly benefit from cross-pollination, so groves should have a mix of cultivars inter-planted for this purpose. Olives are wind pollinated and as such can be affected by climatic factors such as heavy rains and strong or no wind during the flowering period.

Tuscan variety performing well in most areas. High quality oil and high yield. Partially self fertile.

Tree grows with a 'weeping' shape and is mainly cultivated for pollination but it's also a bonny fruiter.

Olive (Curing) - Picholine

Known as the 'cocktail olive' this variety is also cherished for its oil. Self-fertile and resistant to both drought and cold, it suits a variety of climates. Medium-sized fruit can reach up to 5 grams each.
