Hops (Humulus lupulus) have a strong sedative effect – even sniffing the flowers helps you doze off.

The female flowers are most commonly used in brewing beer.  

Hops have been used by herbalists for many years to encourage sleep. The flowers contain the chemical compounds humulone and lupulone which create a substance that is chemically similar to diazepam (Valium). (kept in our freezer)

Store in the freezer until ready to use.  Will keep for up to a year.
