This fruit basket press is made in Nelson with oak staves, stainless steel fittings and a large food grade spun
aluminum
collection tray.
It has a 35ltr capacity and a sturdy base mount to keep it stable as you press your fruit.
Designed with grapes, coarsely chopped cider apples and soft fruit wines in mind... you line the basket with clean mutton cloth or muslin, fit the press lid and apply pressure, tightening over the course of the pressing until the lid is down as far as it can go and all the juice is extracted.
It comes with step by step photographic instructions and a recipe for apple cider. It makes a good community investment if you have a group of folks all interested in making cider and other fruit wines.

The photo's below are of the rip roaring electric apple mill dreamed up by the chap who makes the presses.
It's solid construction of untreated ply covers a grunty electric motor that spins a wooden roller studded with shredding screws. Turn it on and stand back!
